Carolyn Cannon: "'The Accidental Tourist' should perhaps be required reading for any potential new corgi owner. Edward [is] a head-strong, nippy little dog with an attitude. We've known one or two of those in our lifetimes ;-) Edward _is_ a corgi in the book but which breed is not specified. My guess is that he's a Pembroke." Helen Turin: "I believe the dog in the book was actually a Cardigan. I dimly remember reading at the time that Ann Tyler actually owned a Cardigan but I do not know from whence." From Larry McMurtry - The New York Times Book Review: "[This] is one of Anne Tyler's best books. [... Some] aspects of the novel do not entirely satisfy. One is the unaccountable neglect of Edward, the corgi, in the last third of the book [...] At the level of metaphor, however, [Miss Tyler] has never been stronger"

From From Amazon.com: "The porcine hero of Babe, the Gallant Pig (Crown) might be disappointed that his great-grandson isn't interested in sheepherding, but Ace has his own gifts: he can understand Farmer Tubbs's every word. The author exploits his joyful sense of the absurd to the hilt, combining a gentle ribbing of country folk and their animal counterparts with genuine affection". Has a "snobby corgi character", according to a Corgi-L posting and the cover of the Random House edition (not that one can really tell if it's a snobby corgi by looking at the picture).

A poetry book with poems selected, edited and illustrated by Tasha Tudor. The book also contains a section on traditions of Mrs. Tudor and her family. The 2000 reissue is probably easier to obtain, I can't say if they have different content. Annette Sheppard informs us that some of the illustrations feature pembrokes, as do several of Mrs. Tudor's other books: see the Corgiville series for more details.

Comments
While there are probably a nearly endless number of hentai (erotic/smut) mangas portraying incest, this one attempts a serious dramatic treatment of the taboo subject. Even given that and assuming you are a manga fan, it's still definitely not for one easily offended.
The corgi content ratio in the series is however high starting from Volume 3, Episode 15 (the translation linked to below calls the episodes "Secrets") in which Iku receives a pembroke puppy from her twin brother/lover Yori (and names it after him). Apparently the puppy is fairly realistically portayed.
Otherwise, I have not much interest in either the subject matter or the media so I must say I only perused the available pages cursorily and can't really vouch for the quality of the plot or the art, but since there is also an anime OVA from 2005 and a live action movie from 2007 based on this, it appears somewhat popular.

From Amazon UK: "Brood Bitch is a mother's reflection inspired by her hand-raising a litter of Pembroke Welsh corgis whose own mother died after a Caesarian delivery". This book is apparently not so much into entertainment but instead into heavy philosophical stuff, dealing with "the vast scope of motherhood in both corgis and women - its variations, illusions, ideals, realities, frustrations, rewards". Corgis should be fairly central to the plot though and that's what counts.

Number 7 in the series of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries books. Postmistress-cum-sleuth Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen's cat, the titular Mrs. Murphy, and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker solve a missing person case AND a murder connected with the local politics over a new reservoir. From ritamaebrown.com: "While the clever tiger cat and her friends sift through clues that just don't fit together, more than a few locals fear that the ensuing scandal will force well-hidden secrets into the harsh light of day. In the end, Mrs. Murphy's relentless tracking has consequences even she cannot imagine. When her efforts place loved ones in danger, it takes more than a canny kitty and her team of animal sleuths to set things right again".

This is number 10 in the series of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries books, in which Postmistress-cum-sleuth Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen's cat, the titular Mrs. Murphy, and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker solve murders commited in the small town of Crozet, Virginia. This time, a case of stolen hubcaps leads to murders and mayhem. I'm starting to wonder if anybody dies from old age or illness in the small towns of Virginia? From Barnes&Noble: "As [Harry] and her furry cohorts -- the cats Mrs. Murphy and Pewter and corgi Tee Tucker -- get mud on their boots and paws mapping local terrain and relationships and sniffing out telltale scents of villainy, someone is watching their every move". A Corgi-L poster comments on the line illustrator Michael Gellatly: "[He] has really caught the fluffy butt, the stubbies, the Corginess. Too bad he didn't do the illustration for the cover, but we can't have everything, I guess!".

Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries series is considered by some to be winding down and in fact many presumed this, the 13th outing for the series-titular cat Mrs. Murphy and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker, would be the last. At least one more is coming out though (more on this in 2006). On the subject of Ca't Eyewitness, it seems to deal less than previously with the talking, sleuthing animals and more with issues such as religion and lesbianism. Of course there still are murders to be solved and a "shocking revelation of a mystery that has perplexed the citizens of Crozet for ages" to be discovered.

One of the many creations of the "most prolific cartoonist in the World", Cats with Hands is "is anything but your typical fat-cat strip. In his latest and most imaginative creation, Joe Martin depicts a cat-centric universe without humans — a high-concept fantasy where cats live out human lives, yet remain, well, cats" (from Tribune Media website). In addition to intelligent cats (now there's an oxymoron (-;)), the cartoon also features talking mice and dogs. One the latter is a semiregularly appearing pembroke (breed confirmed by the author) Matty. She's not on very often, unfortunately.

From Barnes&Noble: "Hank Brevard, the hospital's plant manager, has had his throat slit from ear to ear, a violent and gruesome crime that no one can make sense of at first. Harry [...] and local police officer Cynthia Cooper theorize on all kinds of possible motives, everything from a tangled love affair to a black-market organ-procurement ring. But it's Harry's trio of four-footed companions -- her cats, Mrs. Murphy and Pewter, and her corgi, Tucker -- who discover the real secret at the hospital, which is connected to the facility's former function as a cornerstone of the Underground Railroad".

This succintly named web comic is a mixed media venture constructed around manipulated photographs of corgis. The main protagonist is unsurpringly enough the fantasy version of the author's pembroke Wasabi, who gets into a number of (mis)adventures set in a dog-populated fairy land. You can submit pictures of your dog for "cartoon fodder" (see Links below for details).
Ok, so one may like to argue that a web comic is not "permanent media" and I grant this one hasn't been updated for over a year, but I decided to hazard its inclusion anyway. Maybe it'll come back one day, and in case it's still up so there.

From Barnes&Noble: "In this third story set in imaginary Corgiville, home to corgis, cats, rabbits and some eccentric families, Christmas is coming". That about sums it up, I think, but to rephrase: it's a Christmas time book set in Corgiville we've come to know from the two previous books in the Corgiville series: the plot, however, does not carry over from the previous books. There's a Japanese edition that has been around for a while longer, but this is the first US edition.

From Tasha Tudor's website (see Links): "In Corgiville, as in any small towns all over America, the biggest event of the year is the fair. The sights, sounds, smells, and all the fun and excitement of a typical small-town fair are captured with humor and affection both in the text and in the marvelously detailed watercolor paintings." Corgiville Fair is a children's book with watercolor paintings depicting a goat race held in a town peopled by Welsh Corgis as well as cats, rabbits and green trolls. Presumably very heart-warming stuff here for the adults as well. This is the first book in the Corgiville series, although the plot does not carry over into the sequels. Several of Mrs. Tudor's other books also include pictures of Pembrokes, see the Corgiville series link above for more details.

Ms. Herrick's corgi book begins like a proper fairytale: "Once upon a time, on a windswept island in a faraway land called Wales, there lived a little corgi dog named Ramsey..." It's still not too childish apparently and is being recommended "for the whole family". The book is based on the real life story of the author's own rescue corgi, but is presented from Ramsey's point of view and thus qualifies as fiction.

The old adage "where there's anime, there's manga" holds true with Cowboy Bebop. Sunrise has published two series of further adventures of Ein the data dog and the group of bountyhunters he has adopted as his family. These have also been published in USA by AnimeNation, the 1st series under the title Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star. According to the Future Blues site (see links below), "The Cowboy Bebop Manga version ran in the Monthly manga collection called Asuka Fantasy DX. Like the TV series, the Manga appears to be episodic in nature, each volume of DX containing a separate adventure". It's also worth noting that the character designs for the 1st series differ quite a bit from those in the anime show and the 2nd series. I presume Ein is still a pembroke in it though.
There is also a manga sequel of sorts that essentially rewrites certain bits of the original anime show's ending I don't care to spoil for you, but it doesn't feature Ein or any other corgis AFAIK, so it'll be safe to ignore anyway.

This is the grand finale of Stephen King's epic American fantasy The Dark Tower, a sprawling series that gets A+ for effort but B- for the quality. The final volume is not quite the most flawed of the bunch but it does come close. Among its redeeming features is the very brief but hearwarming appearance of Marlowe the tough old pembroke in Part Three, Chapter IV, Subchapter 4 (yes, it's that kinda book). Now technically Marlowe was a real dog, Mr. King's dog in fact, but here his appearance, as that of his master, is quite fictionalized enough for inclusion. Say thankya.
PS. For those who might want to delve into the series anyway, there is the fact that one of the main characters is Oy, a talking, vermin-hunting fantasy animal, who is rather obviously a not-corgi. The fact is almost spelled out in The Dark Tower. However, as King doesn't own up to Oy being a corgi (like I said, he's not even a dog), the series only counts for a minor sighting.

Another mystery novel (#12 in the Dr. Deirdre Quinn Nightingale series) , with a woman veterinarian doing the sleuthing. Apparently this genre's authors have a soft spot for Corgis. According to Raelene Gorlinsky, "Huck the corgi witnessed his owner's murder, but that was no help to the humans trying to solve the case. Quote: 'He was the living witness. But neither she nor the authorities spoke Corgi tongue. It was a very exotic language'". Since he's on the cover I've assumed that Huck is important enough a character to warrant a full sighting status for this book. May be wrong tho.

This is the Finnish translation of Vet in a Spin containing the short story Jingo & Skipper.
Och samma på Finska:
Novelli Jingo & Skipper on julkaistu suomeksi kirjan Eläinlääkäri vauhdissa neljäntenä lukuna. Hieman epäloogisesti (ihmisten nimet on jätetty suomentamatta) Jingosta on tullut Jeppe ja novellin tosiasiallisesta eläinpäähenkilöstä, Skipper-corgista Kippari: "Samanaikaisesti Jeppen erottamaton ystävä corgi Kippari kalusi hellästi Jeppen takajalkaa."

A refreshingly low key horror novel in the vein of Stpehen King (only considerably better than many of the mr. Durgin has no less than three of those herself. Durgin has since gone on to write various novels, most of the apparently some kind of spy thrillers with a female protagonist. None that I know of contain mention of corgis.

Footrot Flats by Murray Ball is possibly the best known comic to come out of New Zealand, largely I believe because it was made into an animated feature film Footrot Flats - The Dog's Tail in 1986. The comic strip is set in a somewhat rundown farm in New Zealand and its chief protagonist is the succintly named Dog, who is not a corgi however but more likely a border collie (as the character was inspired by the author's border collie Finn). Charlie, or officially Prince Charles, is a comic relief character, a pampered pembroke who occasionally comes to Dog's farm with the end result of much hilarity ensuing -- with the joke often being on Charlie obviously.

This time around, according to Amazon.com, "Piggy inherits a fortune from an old man she visited as a therapy dog". The same reviewer is of a mind that it's ms. Krokosz's "insider's peek into the world of therapy pets and loveable characters, both human and otherwise, that make this lighthearted romp worth savoring". More light romance with comedic undertones from ms. Krokosz, possibly with a little more material of a dog person interest floated in this time than previously. See the series page for Miss Piggy's other (mis)adventures.

From Tasha Tudor's website (see Links): "Caleb Corgi, outstanding student and part-time private investigator, senses that something is amiss in Corgiville. He has noticed a sudden increase in the number of raccoons in town. They claim they are tourists just passing through, but Caleb feels secrecy and conspiracy in the air..." Presumably very heart-warming stuff here for the adults as well, although some are wont to see a certain amount of xenophobia in the setting. This is the second book in the Corgiville series: the plot, however, does not carry over from book to book. Several of Mrs. Tudor's other books also include pictures of Pembrokes, see the Corgiville series link above for more details.

From Books In Print: "[Kindergarten teacher Sally Foster's] best friend and her husband are killed by a drunk driver and she is named guardian of their teenage son, Micah, who is injured in the crash. They slowly adapt to each other, but with Micah comes his dog, and Sally must try to overcome her longstanding dislike of canines because the only emotion disabled and orphaned Micah feels is for his puppy". Apparently, they have to call in a dog trainer to help with the Corgi (presumably it's a Pem but can't be quite sure), and he and Sally eventually end up together. Sounds like a sugary romance clothed as a dramatic human relations story, doesn't it, but who cares if it does have an important Corgi character? Anyway, seeing as this is a brand new book at this time of writing, more info would be appreciated...

It Happens Every Day is a web comic about a fairly regular family, the Brenners, accounting the odd and funny (in hindsight at least) things that can happen when there's a bunch of kids and a Pembroke corgi to raise a ruckus. Should appeal to married-with-children crowd at least.
At this time of writing (July 11, 2008) It looks like the "lights are on, but nobody's home" at the site, so it may be that IHED has suffered the fate of many a web comic...

Comments
Jingo & Skipper is one of James Herriot's many dog short stories that has also been published as a chapter in Vet in a Spin. According to Jen Prince it's a "heartwarming tale [...] about a Bull Terrier named Jingo, and his friend Skipper the Corgi. Skipper wasted away after Jingo died, until his family decided to have Herriot end his misery. Unable to face life without a dog, they bought a new Bull Terrier puppy (aptly named Jingo Two), in whom Skipper found his new will to live - narrowly avoiding his death". I can also personally vouch for this indeed being a lovely little tale, somewhat bitter sweet but with a happy ending.
As well as in the aforementioned book, this short story also appears on two audio books (cassettes) from Dh Audio:- "Jingo & Skipper", year 1995 (ISBN: 0886467500)
- "Digger and Other Stories", year unknown (ISBN: 0886466997)

A wordless fantasy comic book for all ages, Korgi (Book 1): Sprouting Wings! is -- according to the book's jacket sleeve -- "a gorgeously illustrated woodland fantasy about a young girl, Ivy, her Korgi cub, Sprout, and their amazing adventures in Korgi Hollow." The story is set in an alternative fantasy world and strictly speaking, the titular Korgis are despite their appearance not really pembroke welsh corgis. As Slade has gone on record saying they are very much inspired by his own pembrokes, I deem them quite close enough to merit the book's inclusion in this database.

The second part of Christian Slade's wordless fantasy comic book series for all ages,

From The Columbia River Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club book reviews: "The story of a Corgi puppy who gets lost in the woods and is adopted by a mother fox. He learns to survive in the wild as a fox, but is found at Christmas by humans and adopted by a little girl. The Corgi later goes back to the woods to help his injured fox mother, who eventually comes to live at the farm woodshed under the care of the Corgi’s human family". Despite having the same title as the Disney TV-movie and almost (but not quite) certainly featuring a Pembroke as the protagonist, this book isn't telling the same story. Appeared in USA as Weekly Reader Children's Book Club (Z877).

A corgi seen at the house of the famous writer Martti Talvimaa
Comments
In this the first novel of the acclaimed Finnish speculative fiction writer Pasi Ilmari Jääskeläinen, dogs besiege the house of the famous writer Martti Talvimaa. Among their number is a corgi, as we are told in all of one single sentence. The dog pack has an important role to play in the story however.

A children's book (recomended for ages 4-8) in Blue Banana series about a girl who gets the notion she's the Queen. Presumably that's why she has a pembroke tailing her, commenting on the proceedings. The lines are spot on -- if our pembroke could have talked, he would have sounded very much like the one in the book! Very funny even for a little more mature reader.

From a Corgi-L posting: "Penny is a Boston Terrier who dreams of going to a big dog show. Among the dogs shown in the ring she imagines is a beautiful blue merle [...] Cardi". Number 3 in the series of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries books. Postmistress-cum-sleuth Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen's cat, the titular Mrs. Murphy, and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker have to work out how a murder commited 170 years ago ties to a murder commited in the present day. From ritamaebrown.com: "With the help of Harry’s corgi, Tee Tucker, and Pewter, the corpulent cat from the nearby grocery, Mrs. Murphy is soon digging up the roots of old hatreds and unearthing the tragic consequences of human desire".
Trivia: by this book, ms. Brown has apparently decided that Tee Tucker doesn't have a tail after all but instead "a little snub". So very likely she's supposed to be a regular American docked Pembroke even though the first two books of the series, Wish You Were Here and Rest In Pieces, mention her tail which might imply otherwise.

This the second volume in the massive and overblown space opera trilogy Night's Dawn features the tiniest of references to corgis. In the sequence on a planet were a kind of Victorian class hierarchy is being maintained, one of the nobility is given that extra flair of "British aristrocracy" by adding a couple of corgis (begging food from the table, of course (-;)) to the scene. Being elsewhere hailed as one of the best series in the genre, I found Night's Dawn to be quite tedious, especially in its frequent, detailed and graphic descriptions of violence and sex. All that multilation and copulation does get old after ca. 3000 pages. Read Hamilton's Fallen Dragon instead, basically the same bottom line with much less pomp and circumstance... Plus it's shorter too, by a lot. Doesn't have corgis in it though.

Clement Clarke Moore wrote "The Night Before Christmas" for his children in 1822. Unsurprisinly, it has been printed again and again in different versions and illustrated by untold number of artists. This is apparently the first edition illustrated by Tasha Tudor though, and hence probably the first to include Welsh Corgis -- almost 100% certainly Pems -- in it. From Publisher's Weekly: "[Tasha Tudor] whisks readers to New England, this time to a quiet spot in early-19th-century Vermont. Her cozy, nostalgic watercolor scenes, often lit by candle or roaring fire, are viewed as if through a large oval peephole. Loose ink lines and slightly hazy figures succeed in creating an aura of holiday fantasy. A spunky, elfin Saint Nicholas, a menagerie of perky pets (including the corgis, of course) and a very busy family of mice partying beneath the floorboards add a sense of fun". Several of Mrs. Tudor's other books also include pictures of Pembrokes, see the Corgiville series for more details.

A quote of US edition back cover: "A fascinating first-hand account of the British Royal Family at work, at play, at home, at each other’s throats -- told with all the biting honesty for which corgis are justly famous". Apparently, a humorous/satirical look at the life behind the scenes of the Royal Family. Listed this as a minor sighting since it's not all that likely that it's very important that the story is "told" by a Corgi. Wouldn't know, obviously, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

From Barnes&Noble: "In the deceptively sleepy town of Crozet, Virginia, people have a way of turning up dead. So when the past comes back to haunt the alumni of Crozet High's class of 1980, it has a very lethal effect. Mrs. Murphy, along with Tee Tucker, the Welsh corgi, and a gray cat named Pewter, are working [...] to solve the case and keep their mistress safe. Their humorous and puzzled observations of human nature provide an entertaining contrast to their own instinctive knowledge and abilities. Their dogged efforts do pay off, but by the time they ferret out the truth and discover the startling identity of this weaselly killer, they are forced to employ some rather desperate measures in hopes of keeping Harry alive".

From the editor: "Autumn has arrived in cozy Crozet, Virginia, and that means the town’s inhabitants are hard at work in home and garden preparing for winter. Harry is planning to harvest her first crop of Petit Manseng grapes along with her beloved sunflowers. Meanwhile, her recent marriage to Fair and her friendship with Deputy Cynthia Cooper, who’s rented nearby Blair Farm, are flourishing. But even when peace descends on the idyllic countryside, murder is lurking." Rita Mae Brown's mystery series Mrs. Murphy Mystries has reached the 16th volume. [...] As Harry searches for clues, rediscovers life as a married woman, and deals with her upcoming fortieth birthday, her four-legged detective friends are already on the case. But is animal instinct any match for human depravity?" One can pretty safely assume it is as Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mystries series continues past this, its 15th book. 'But it was a long, long walk to the seaside, and on the way everyone got rather hot and silly.' The cartoon drawings of the Corgis running in terror from an alley cat, fainting, and begging the butler for help are just hysterical! The Queen sternly calls everyone to order, sets things straight, rescues the Corgis, and marches everyone down to the seashore for a marvelous day". Apparently a funny book about how even Corgis need to observe protocol, suitable for all ages.

Richard Bachman is, as we all know, really the famous horror author Stephen King. A corgi person, mr. King has inserted several references to one Rose ("the corgi that could count") in this quite unbelievable but still somewhat entertaining horror story about a very sick version of child's play brough to life by a vampiric psychic evil. The corgi is not actually present in the book, which makes this a minor sighting (if that, really).

Comments
A children's book about a musical child prodigy written by J. Lithgow better known as tv and movie actor. According to Carol Ann Wilson in School Library Journal, "Payne's realistic mixed-media illustrations contain whimsical details" which include a pembroke welsh corgi appearing from unexpected quarters. The pem doesn't seem to make an appearance in the text though, nor is it in every pic: hence the minor sighting status of this entry.

Number 2 in the series of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries books. Postmistress-cum-sleuth Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen's cat, the titular Mrs. Murphy, and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker solve the mystery of a man found decapitated in the small town of Crozet, Virginia. Mystery writers do seem to think small towns are really colourful places, don't they? From ritamaebrown.com: "Blair Bainbridge is drop-dead gorgeous, single, and living right down the road from Harry. The local matchmakers think he is the perfect antidote for the pain of Harry’s recent divorce [...] Even Mrs. Murphy and Harry’s Welsh corgi, Tee Tucker, believe he smells A-okay. Could his one little imperfection be that he’s a killer?".
Trivia: in this book Tee Tucker is apparently mentioned to have a tail which would make her an undocked Pem (or perhaps even a Cardi).

From The Columbia River Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club book reviews: "A short picture book of a typical day in the palace from a dog’s eye view. Rex is not at all in awe of his royal owners". One more out-of-print Corgi oriented book for industrious people to dig up.

From Acorn Publishing (see links below): "A very special little dog named Scarlett leads the way as an unlikely detective, when she tries to solve mysterious cases of horse theft from area farms. Even with the short legs of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Scarlett proves herself to be a challenging match for thieves who think they can steal prize horses their owners love". In other words, another mystery story with a Pem but this time for the children. The title character Scarlett is a real Pembroke belonging to the author, although I'd suspect the story itself is not entirely based on fact (-;)

Additional information found at The Columbia River Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club book reviews states that "this is about young Jase and his adventures on the family farm with his new Corgi puppy. An epilogue shows the grown Jase getting a Corgi puppy for his own son".

From the editor: "Wouldn't you know it: Just when Harry Haristeen is rekindling her romance with the good veterinarian Fair, somebody has to get murdered." Actually, that's exactly what you should expect by this time as this book is number 14 in Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mystries series. And as always when a murder rears its ugly head, the cats Mrs. Murphy and Pewter, and of course the pembroke Tee Tucker are on it in a flash. Sour Puss seems to be getting very mixed reviews (as in 5-out-of-5 or 1-out-of-5 stars only), so it's probably not the best place to pick the series up...

Corgis aren't actually "seen" in this lighthearted doggy fantasy that is a sequel to the better known The Hundred And One Dalmatians, but they get a special mention for steadfastly upholding the Pembroke traditions in a time of weirdness. From a Corgi-L posting: "All the dogs of England converge on London and the Prime Minister's residence [...], the dynamic Dals Pongo and Missis (only Disney calls Pongo's doggy wife Perdita) leading the way. They're welcomed by a cheering crowd of dogs -- all breeds seem to be represented in the throng [...] They are informed that all the dogs of England ARE there... except the Corgis, who are all sitting in front of Buckingham Palace". OK the author probably forgot that Cardigans are Corgis too, but one could easily assume they were up at the Palace supporting their royalist cousins (-;)

Kirjan Magic Lemonade suomennos.

The 11th book in the series of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries books, in which Postmistress-cum-sleuth Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen's cat, the titular Mrs. Murphy, and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker solve murders commited in the small town of Crozet, Virginia. From Barnes&Noble: "Tucker the soulful-eyed corgi, Pewter the prototypical fat cat, and Mrs. Murphy, feline sleuth extraordinaire, all know exactly what will happen the moment they learn that the game has ended with philandering building contractor H.H. Donaldson dead in the arena parking lot...".

If Barnes&Noble is to be believed, the alternate title says it all really: "This charming picture book presents a year of holiday traditions from Tasha Tudor's own childhood [...] Delicate watercolor paintings, intricate border illustrations, and a loving text celebrate the turning of the seasons and the year's special days". This has been given "minor sighting" status since the Corgis are likely to be "bystanders" in this one, although there's even one pictured on the cover. Several of Mrs. Tudor's other books also include pictures of Pembrokes, see the Corgiville series for more details.

From Kirkus Review: "Poking affectionate fun at Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, the author looks at their relationship through the eyes of Titus, one of the Queen’s ten corgis. Never referring to his royal mistress as anything other than 'the servant', Titus learns proper behavior from his mum ('Our servant she may be, but it’s important to treat servants right if you want them to look after you well'), earns a place on the Queen’s lap after nabbing a jewel thief, then on her very bed after heading off a flood (Philip falls asleep in his tub, leaving the taps on), and a cigarette-caused fire". Sounds like fun to me, although Kirkus Review goes to add that they didn't find the Queen jokes very entertaining. Perhaps you should check out for yourselves. This book has been previously published in UK under the slightly different title of Titus Rules OK!.

The Finnish edition of Dodie Smith's The Starlight Barking.
Och samma på Finska:
Dodie Smithin The Starlight Barking -kirjan suomennos. Kohtauksessa, jossa koirat kokoontuvat Downing Street 10:een todetaan seuraavaa:
"Näyttää upealta", tuumasi Pongo. "Tuntuu siltä, että tuolla on ihan jokaisen rodun edustajia."
"Paitsi corgeja", sanoi Possuli. "Ne ovat kaikki vartioimassa kuningattaren linnaa."
Kirjailija lienee unohtanut, että myös cardiganeja on olemassa, mutta toisaalta voidaan kai ajatella, että ne olivat "rojalistiserkkujensa" tukena linnalla (-;)

The short story Jingo & Skipper is incorporated in this book as Chapter 4. See the relevant entry for more details. Note that although in the short story itself, Skipper the corgi is in fact more of a central character than Jingo the bull terrier, the other 23 chapters have no corgis in them. Hence, in the context this is a minor sighting.

The 12th book of Rita Mae Brown's long running Mrs. Murphy Mysteries. Once again, two cats and the pembroke Tee Tucker are on the trail of a murderer alongside their owner, the "unfailingly curious" local postmistress and amateur sleuth Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen. In addition to the killer targeting horse breeders, there's also the threat of rabies in the air this time around, but of course the crafty animal protagonists once again save the day in the end.

First in the series of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy Mysteries books. The series tell the tale of a cat, the titular Mrs. Murphy, and her Pembroke sidekick Tee Tucker, who solve a series of murder mysteries in and about the small town of Crozet, Virginia. They tend to be a step ahead of their owner, Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen, to whom humans mistakenly give the credit for solving the mysteries... From ritamaebrown.com: "Mary Minor 'Harry' Haristeen, thirty-something and in mid-divorce, is the youngest postmistress in the history of Crozet -- but then, nobody else was clamoring for the job. Nobody cares if she brings her tiger cat, Mrs. Murphy, and Welsh corgi, Tee Tucker, to work with her [..] When Kelly Craycroft, Crozet’s richest contractor, receives a card with a stone angel from a tombstone on the front and the inscription, 'Wish you were here' on the back, Harry thinks little of it. Until Kelley’s body is found in his cement mixer".
Trivia: in this book Tee Tucker is apparently mentioned to have a tail which would make her an undocked Pem (or perhaps even a Cardi).

Comments
Faeries and wild romance abound in this beautifully illustrated fantasy web comic. The highlight of the story is of course Livy, who "seems to be a very ordinary Pembroke Welsh Corgi. But [...] Livy is anything but ‘ordinary’. A size shifter, Livy can expand or contract her size to that of a bear or a hamster. She is also able to converse telepathically. Tough and taciturn, Livy is all business" (quoting from the Xylia site, see Links below). The story hasn't progressed very far at this time of writing (the site updates fairly regularly, but only once or so per week, which is hardly surprising considering the complex artwork), so it's pretty easy to get into.

Apparently this is the one book with Corgis in a series about Zelda, a Papillon, and her canine friends having adventures in London. From The Columbia River Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club book reviews: "Zelda and her friends assume a lost Corgi puppy must belong to the Queen and return him to the palace, then have to retrieve him when they discover his real owner".
